Last week the brother of Abduljabbar al-Kubaysi, Ibrahim, a doctor in the public hospital of Abu Ghraib, told the Campaign Against Occupation and for the Independence of Iraq (CEOSI) in the Spanish state, that the leader of the Iraqi Patriotic Alliance had been able to send a letter to his family via the International Red Cross, in which he confirms that he is alive, but conditions in Camp Cropper are extremely poor concerning food and sanitation for the prisoners. On March 3rd, 2005, six months have passed since Abduljabbar al-Kubaysi´s kidnapping, but still there is no formal indictment against him, he is not allowed to receive visits of his family or lawyers, and the most basic necessities of life are denied from him by the US authorities, in complete disregard of the basic rights of the prisoners. CEOSI has explained this news and these facts to the Spanish ministry of foreign affairs. The ministry informed CEOSI, that they had tried to get information about al-Kubaysi [2] from the military responsible for the occupation, via the Spanish embassy in Baghdad, but there had been no reply so far.
