The Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL), an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, has the pleasure and honor to invite you to attend the II International Conference of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, that will be held from May 15th to 17th 2002 in Mexico City. This important Conference will be co-sponsored by the Partido del Trabajo de Mà©xico and is supported by other Mexican and Cuban organizations, as well as the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).
The conference will give continuity to our solidarity work with the Palestinian people, who is suffering today the increase and inhumane aggression of the Zionist regime presided over by Ariel Sharon, responsible for the killings of Palestinian refugees at Sabra and Shatila camps in 1982.
To support the right of the Palestinians to build on their own independent State with its capital in Arab Jerusalem and to design an Action Plan with this just struggle are the aims of this international conference. Please, find attached the announcement, agenda and other details.

In fulfilling the Agreement of the First International Conference of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, held in Athens, Greece, in September 1999, and in answering to the commitment reflected in the Plan of Action of the Latin American and Caribbean NGOs´ Workshop on the question of Palestine, of the UN Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, held in Havana, in June 2001, the Organisation of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL), with the cosponsorship of the Partido del Trabajo (PT) and other forces in Mexico, calls on all revolutionary, progressive and peace-and justice-loving organisations to participate in the Second International Conference of Solidarity with the heroic Palestinian people that, deprived of its national rights for 54 years and led by the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), its sole and legitimate representative, fights for its self-determination and for the restoration of its national rights, including that to establish its own independent State on the soil of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.
